Maureen and Jeremy’s Wedding

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of photographing Maureen and Jeremy’s wedding at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and their reception at the Marriott Salisbury in Jacksonville, FL. After a traditional wedding mass, the happy couple joined family and friends for dinner and dancing. Congratulations to Maureen and Jeremy!

Ashley’s Retro Bridal Session

As promised, here are a few teaser pics from Ashley’s mini-bridal session in her mom’s wedding gown. I LOVE this dress. The high collar was amazing!

Yes, she forgot to bring white shoes, but I loved the contrast of her black shoes. Kinda' cool, huh?

Patricia, Mickey & Sebastian

Recently, Patricia (the fabulous make-up artist I work with) brought in her new baby son Sebastian and husband Mickey for their first official family portrait. Here is one of my favorites from their first session.

Chase Newborn Session

Just a few images from Chase’s newborn session. Chase is the little brother to Ava Rose who has been featured on the blog quite a bit and most recently in her “pouty princess” pose in a green tutu. What a cute little brother to have!chase

Decorating Your Home with Family Portraits

Recently, I visited one of my best client’s home. We had recently completed two canvas prints of her newborn son Chase and three year old daughter Ava Rose and I wanted to hang them for her personally. So, I brought my camera along so I could share how much impact, life and warmth personal family portraits can add to a home if done in the right scale and format.

This first image is of two 16×24 canvas prints hung over the fireplace without framing. Leaving canvas frameless gives the images a contemporary style and really allows the color to have great impact.

This image below was taken of the front foyer. Here, another canvas print is hung in a wall cut out suited just perfectly for a family portrait. This image was created by me three years ago the same week that Ava Rose (the three year old pictured in the tutu above) came home from the hospital.

I just love how these images have become a part of this family’s story and I feel so honored that they can not only decorate this family’s home, but provide a heritage that will be enjoyed for years to come. I also think that one or two large images displayed in the home has much more style and impact than lots of little pictures in frames scattered about.

So, if you are considering a family or children’s session, take a moment to look around your home for spaces that can display your family’s story in style.

Baby Shane at 3 Months

Look at how adorable baby Shane is at 3 months. For this photo session, I created a “fresh and clean” theme with the laundry basket and white folded towels. He is a doll!

Florida School- Photo Shoot- Day 2

What a wild class! Yesterday we photographed our bride and groom models in the world famous “Boot Hill Saloon” in Daytona Beach. The theme of Curt Littlecott’s class is to look for unexpected locations and light sources. So, when we saw this biker bar we jumped at the chance to work the place. As a class, we came up with some really cool ideas. Another photographer, Damon, suggested that the model lay on her back near the bar and Curt helped us better understand the lighting and exposure. I took this picture using only a 50mm lens and the light available by window. Tonight we’ll be night shooting and creating more dramatic images. Check back!
