Sarah Beth and Ryan’s Wedding at Florida Yacht Club

Sarah Beth and Ryan celebrated their wedding with family and friends on Saturday at the Florida Yacht Club. Even the looming thunderstorms couldn’t put a damper on this wedding! Congratulations to Sarah Beth and Ryan.

FAQ-What should I wear to my engagement photo shoot?

What you should wear depends on the look you are going for and the location, but I tend to like “dressy casual” clothes in colors that complement your eyes. Blues, greens, and yellows are my favorite. Also, it looks best if you and your fiance are in complementary outfits, but not the same exact thing. Typically, I try to steer my clients away from bold prints since they can be distracting. Big logos on shirts are a definite thing to avoid.

I love engagement sessions! They are included in most of my wedding packages since it is such a good opportunity for us to get to know each other and get comfortable before the wedding day.

To book an engagement session just email me at jenniferbrum@comcast.net or call me at (904) 382-7255.

Ashley’s Retro Bridal Session

As promised, here are a few teaser pics from Ashley’s mini-bridal session in her mom’s wedding gown. I LOVE this dress. The high collar was amazing!

Yes, she forgot to bring white shoes, but I loved the contrast of her black shoes. Kinda' cool, huh?

Ashley and Josh St. Augustine Engagement Session

Ashley and Josh are planning a wedding for October this year and decided to celebrate with an engagement session in St. Augustine. We took advantage of a beautiful afternoon and just walked the square looking for cool places to shoot. Congratulations to Ashley and Josh!

P.S. After this session, Ashley put on her mom’s wedding dress for a mini-shoot and those images will be posted tomorrow. The dress is amazing with a high-collar, long sleeves and flowy gown. So, please check back to see those images!

FAQ -What Can I Do to Ensure Great “Getting Ready” Shots?

There are a couple key things a bride and her bridesmaids can do to ensure great “getting ready” pictures. The first is keep the clutter to a minimum or all in one spot. Hotel suites are the perfect place for this part of the wedding day since you’ll often have multiple rooms. You can keep all your clothes, bags and make-up in one area and get dressed in another. A second idea is to use a room with lots of windows. Natural light is best for these images. Thirdly, delegate all of the last minute wedding tasks so you can relax and focus on you.

Association of Bridal Consultants meeting

Last night, I attended the Association of Bridal Consultants meeting. Cassie from Flaire Weddings was the speaker and she gave us a great presentation on blogging. She had some great tips for us on what type of information brides are looking for on blogs. Her suggestions included other vendor interviews, a regular FAQ (Frequently Asked Question) section and contests for those who leave comments. So, I plan to incorporate all of those suggestions and encourage you to come back to the blog often to see all the new stuff I’ll be incorporating! In fact, Wednesday will be “Q&A Wednesday” and I’ll post the answer to a wedding photography FAQ. If you have any suggestions for other posts ideas, please just leave a comment. Thanks!
