Recently, I visited one of my best client’s home. We had recently completed two canvas prints of her newborn son Chase and three year old daughter Ava Rose and I wanted to hang them for her personally. So, I brought my camera along so I could share how much impact, life and warmth personal family portraits can add to a home if done in the right scale and format.
This first image is of two 16×24 canvas prints hung over the fireplace without framing. Leaving canvas frameless gives the images a contemporary style and really allows the color to have great impact.

This image below was taken of the front foyer. Here, another canvas print is hung in a wall cut out suited just perfectly for a family portrait. This image was created by me three years ago the same week that Ava Rose (the three year old pictured in the tutu above) came home from the hospital.

I just love how these images have become a part of this family’s story and I feel so honored that they can not only decorate this family’s home, but provide a heritage that will be enjoyed for years to come. I also think that one or two large images displayed in the home has much more style and impact than lots of little pictures in frames scattered about.
So, if you are considering a family or children’s session, take a moment to look around your home for spaces that can display your family’s story in style.
