Jenny and Nick’s Wedding in St. Augustine

Elegant and grand. That’s how I would describe Jenny and Nick’s wedding on May 17 in St. Augustine. Jenny reserved the Anastasia Suite at the Casa Monica for her getting ready moments. I’m so glad she did. We were able to get some of my favorite images of the day in that room using only the light from the window and the beautiful staircase. The ceremony was held at the amazing Cathedral Basilica, one of the grandest churches in our area. After a perfect vow exchange, the guests headed over to the Casa Monica for a reception, dinner and dancing. Best wishes to Jenny and Nick!

Amy and Rob’s wedding

On May 3, Amy and Rob celebrated their wedding with an exchange of vows at St. Catherine’s and a reception at the Country Club of Orange Park. Amy and Rob are avid ‘Nole fans that love to travel together with family and friends. Here’s to many more great adventures to come! Congratulations Amy and Rob!

Florida School- Photo Shoot- Day 2

What a wild class! Yesterday we photographed our bride and groom models in the world famous “Boot Hill Saloon” in Daytona Beach. The theme of Curt Littlecott’s class is to look for unexpected locations and light sources. So, when we saw this biker bar we jumped at the chance to work the place. As a class, we came up with some really cool ideas. Another photographer, Damon, suggested that the model lay on her back near the bar and Curt helped us better understand the lighting and exposure. I took this picture using only a 50mm lens and the light available by window. Tonight we’ll be night shooting and creating more dramatic images. Check back!

Florida School

This week, I will be attending the Florida Professional Photographer’s Florida School. This is a weeklong workshop called “High Octane Weddings” where I will be learning all the latest styles and techniques in wedding photography. I’ll be working with one of the recently named Top 10 wedding photographer’s in the world, Curt Littlecott. Curt is both a fashion and wedding photographer who blends those two worlds together in his wedding work. We’ll also spend time honing our album design skills. So, I can’t wait to come back energized with some new techniques that will give my client’s images and albums a fashionable edge. Stay tuned!

Jenny and Nick’s Engagement Session in St. Augustine

Jenny and Nick are getting married this Saturday! These are a few of my favorite images from their engagement session in St. Augustine from a couple of weeks ago. The red door is on the steps of the Cathedral Basilica where they will exchange vows this weekend. Lots of luck and well wishes and I look forward to Saturday!

Ashley and John’s Engagement Session at the Zoo!

Yes! The Zoo! John is lucky enough to have a work connection that gave us VIP access to the Jacksonville Zoo after hours. We had the whole park to ourselves! (Well, there was a rumor that Newt Gingrich was there too, but we never saw him:) John’s friend drove us around the Zoo on a golf cart and we stopped for pictures when we saw a great spot. What an awesome experience! Congratulations to Ashley and John!

What Happens in Vegas…

I am back from Las Vegas! I had a great time hanging out with my family. We mostly shopped, ate and relaxed. On Sunday night, we went to Treasure Island for the Cirque du Soleil show Mystere. It was amazing! My five year old niece Lexy thought the acrobats were “real fairies”. :) Another fun thing we did was visit Red Rock Canyons. It’s a gorgeous canyon park with hiking trails and rock climbing.

Well, back to work. Only a few more days until I leave for Florida School in Daytona. I will be in Daytona at a conference May 18-22.

Joe and Elizabeth’s engagement session

Here are a few images from Joe and Elizabeth’s engagement session at the beach. They are planning a wedding out of state. Congratulations Joe and Elizabeth!

Megan and Jaron’s Wedding at Palencia

So, this was my first experience at Palencia and it is fantastic! What a great location! Megan and Jaron celebrated their wedding on April 26 with a very special ceremony given by her brother who is a pastor. It was filled with love and laughter! After the ceremony, they joined their guests for a dinner and dancing. Congratulations Megan and Jaron!

My New Baby Nephew-Cooper David

Many of my clients know that I have a new baby nephew, Cooper, so I wanted to post a picture from my visit last week. He was 20 days old on the day this was taken. My brother (his daddy) said that this was the position he slept in while in Julie’s tummy. So cute! I love him!
