Last night was a first for me. My first time photographing a ballet dancer. Emily is the sister of Erin (one of my HS Senior Ambassadors). She brought in her dance gear and we captured lots of beautiful images, some soft and sweet, some moody in black and white. Here are just a couple of the black and white images I worked on today.

Did you know that almost 200 people visit my blog each day? I think that is amazing and am thrilled that so many of my clients, fellow photographers, friends and even strangers log on to see what’s new with Photography by Jennifer Brum. I try to make the blog interesting by writing a little bit about lots of different things: weddings, portraits, and just other stuff that I’m up to. But, I was curious what my visitors enjoy the most. I do get to see what posts are visited the most each day, but I’d like to hear from you on what you’d like to see more of. So, don’t be shy… cast your vote! Click on “Take Our Poll” link below. The poll will pop up in a seperate screen. Thanks!
Ok. I know it’s wacky…
Here’s my Halloween costume from Saturday night. Many of my clients know that I was dressing up as the “Lovestruck Astronaut.” She is the lady astronaut that was in the news for driving non-stop from Houston to Orlando with an adult diaper on to confront her boyfriend’s other “lady friend” for stealing her man. The police think she was going to attempt to kidnap her.
I ordered a space suit on-line from Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex (where I used to work) and even wore an adult diaper. I put on the wig and dark glasses to be incognito and carried a knife and handcuffs. Lots of people at the party thought it was funny, but a few needed the explanation. I guess not everyone watches TV as much as I do
Happy Halloween!

Congratulations to Brittney and Steven! Yesterday’s wedding took place at Heavenly Heights Baptist Church and the reception was held at Friday Musicale downtown Jacksonville. It was so fresh and pretty with a clean white setting at both locations. Here are a few of my favorites. Enjoy!

Last night I attended a local wedding professionals networking mixer hosted by ABC (Association of Bridal Consultants)Jacksonville coordinator Heather Trimboli. In honor of October being national breast cancer awareness month, Heather gave us some information about Brides Against Breast Cancer. I’ve written about this great group on my blog before (July post on Brides Against Breast Cancer), but thought it would be great to remind everyone of this group. Basically, Brides Against Breast Cancer collects new and used bridal gowns and sells them to benefit Making Memories. Locally, Heather is the contact person who collects gowns. So, if you are interested in donating your used gown to a great cause, please contact Heather at First Coast Weddings. They also accept full bridesmaid gown sets. (Not individual bridesmaid gowns.) Even brides that participate in “Trash the Dress” can usually have their gowns cleaned and can still donate them!
This month has been a super busy month for albums. So, here are two pages from another album I just finished and love. The wedding of Brandii and Brian was at Immaculate Conception and the reception at Jacksonville Golf and Country Club. Enjoy!

I recently came across this quote about photography by Elliott Erwitt. I just had to share it. It sums up how I feel about this profession/obsession perfectly!
“To me photography is an art of observation. It’s about finding something interesting in an ordinary place. I’ve found it has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them.” –Elliott Erwitt
Wow! So many wonderful images from Saturday night. It was hard to pick just a few for the blog! Here are a few of my many favorites from Sherry and Dennis’ wedding at Walker’s Landing on Amelia Island. It was a gorgeous ceremony held just before sunset overlooking the marsh. We took full advantage of the gorgeous light and made so many great images. Thanks to Sherry and Dennis for being so great to work with! Good luck and congratulations!
