Jeff and Julie- Fort Walton Beach wedding

Over the Christmas vacation, I had the pleasure of photographing a very special wedding. My brother Jeff married his sweetheart Julie at the Eglin Air Force Base Officer’s Club. Since the ceremony was at sunset we set up a private moment for them to see each other for the first time before the ceremony so we could finish the portraits before dark. I also really wanted to dance at the reception and not “work”, so they hired another photographer to cover the reception. Here are a few of my favorite images from the getting ready, “first glance”, portraits and ceremony. Love you both!
Thanks for a Great Year!

Albums aren’t just for weddings anymore! Recently, we wrapped up a “year in the life” photo session with little Shane. I photographed him when he was newborn, at 3 months, 6 months, 9 months and one year old. Then I designed a flushmount portrait album so his mom and dad could keep these photos together as the story of his first year. It turned out so great I thought I’d post a few of my favorite pages here. If you are interested in learning more about family portrait sessions, “year in the life” sessions or portrait albums, please send me an email to jenniferbrum@comcast.net.

Wedding at the White Room in St. Augustine-Jessica and Drew

I love birdcage veils. If you don’t know what a birdcage veil its, it’s a short veil with a vintage or retro feel that is very popular with modern brides. So, I was super happy that Jessica wore one on her wedding day this past Sunday in addition to a super cute tea-length dress. She looked amazing! Jessica and Drew’s wedding was held at the White Room in St. Augustine. Another retro touch to the wedding was the cupcake tower cake. Check out the cute fishing cake topper too! At the end of the day, the happy couple made their getaway in a fish shaped buggie to add to the theme. Congratulations to Jessica and Drew on a fun and whimsical wedding!
Top Five Tips to Caring for Your Wedding Album
Published November 30, 2009 Weddings Leave a CommentTags: caring for your wedding album, classic wedding albums, matted albums, traditional wedding albums, wedding albums
As I was packing up Ryan and Josh’s gorgeous wedding album today, I was thinking of the follow up email I was planning to write her on caring for the album, and was inspired to write a blog post to help all bride’s keep their albums in top condition for a lifetime.
1. The most important thing to remember is to always display your album flat on it’s back cover. Displaying an album standing on it’s hinge (like a library book) can be damaging to the spine.
2. Another key point is to keep the album away from direct sunlight and windows so light and moisture can not affect it.
3. You’ll also want to store the album in a climate controlled environment. So, no attic storage or the images may turn yellow and fade over time.
4. This year, one of my bride’s from two years ago, lost her album in a house fire. Fortunately, we were able to reprint her album. Be sure to keep the contact information of your photographer in case a catastrophe were to happen. And you may want to check with your homeowner’s insurance to see if you can add this valuable family heirloom to your policy.
5. Finally, turn each page with your fingertips, and not your fingernails. This will ensure that the pages don’t lift up. Album pages may sometimes be cleaned with a dry, microfiber cloth. Never use moisture on the images or pages.
Wedding albums are gifts that you give the future generations of your family. Treat your album with love and care to ensure your memories last more than a lifetime.

Club Continental Wedding-Heather and Jeff

On Sunday, Heather and Jeff were married at Club Continental. Although there was a 70% chance of rain that day, we never saw a drop and enjoyed a gorgeous riverfront ceremony at sunset. In the evening, Heather and Jeff celebrated with family and friends with dinner and dancing and were sent off with a special bubble “grand exit.” Congratulations to Heather and Jeff!
