Besides the father-daughter dance, the bride’s final preparations are one of my favorite parts of the wedding day. Friday’s wedding at the Casa Monica with Jarelis and Hank had the perfect set-up for bridal prep- a calm bride, a gorgeous uncluttered room, and perfect window light. Just lovely.

Last week, I had a family session scheduled for a mom and her son- Diem Kieu and Nino. Hubby/daddy is deployed in the military and they wanted to capture some images to present in a nice album and send to him while he’s away. There is a wonderful organization called Operation:Love Reunited that matches families with photographers for this reason. So, we meet at the park and stumble across this gorgeous butterfly garden. Nino started picking flowers for mom. It was really sweet and I loved how the flowers framed mother and son. So, I take this opportunity to post a few pics and salute our military troops and their families.

Ryan and Josh are a couple who live in Alabama and are planning a wedding in Jacksonville next month. While they were in town last weekend finishing up some wedding planning details, we squeezed in an engagement session downtown at Memorial Park. We had a gorgeous evening with wonderful light…even though the mosquitos did try to get us
I’m looking forward to next month and their wedding at Epping!

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of photographing Maureen and Jeremy’s wedding at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and their reception at the Marriott Salisbury in Jacksonville, FL. After a traditional wedding mass, the happy couple joined family and friends for dinner and dancing. Congratulations to Maureen and Jeremy!

Don’t you just love this dress? As soon as Morgan arrived with it I knew immediately what type of session we were going to create for this city girl living in Kansas City! I call it Urban Cowboy Chic. Love it!

Jennifer and Chris were married on Saturday at the Serenata Beach Club. They are a fun, out going couple from Georgia (who happen to be Gator Fans) and their day reflected their personalities perfectly! Congratulations to Jenn and Chris on a wonderful event!

Kasey and Merritt’s Wedding Downtown Jacksonville

Kasey and Merritt were married on May 2 at the Riverside Baptist Church in beautiful downtown Jacksonville. The ceremony was lit only by candles and the gorgeous light flowing in through the stained glass windows. After the ceremony, they celebrated with family and friends at the Hyatt Regency on Jacksonville’s riverfront. My favorite part of the day was when they made their “grand exit” on a speed boat! Very cool! Congratulations to Kasey and Merritt!

Kasey and Merritt are getting married on Saturday! Yes, Saturday. They’ve been so busy with graduation, that we just photographed the engagement session on Thursday evening. But, we had great weather and they were relaxed and surprisingly stress free! So, congratulations to you both on graduation and the upcoming wedding. See you next weekend
